Touching Your Baby to Improve His Digestion and Circulation

Intentional touching, or massage, have a calming effect and has been shown to help improve digestion and circulation in infants.

Scientists have found that touching and caressing the infant seems to help increase production of serotonin, a hormone that helps the body cope with stress, and moderate production of cortisol, a hormone produced by the body when subjected to stress.
